One of the most iconic chess sets ever made, reimagined in a beautiful Craftsman collection edition that is as stunning to display as it is to play with. The Isle of Lewis Chess Set features a natural wood veneer chessboard with inlaid playing surface, an elegant mahogany-finish border, and thirty-two hand-carved Lewis chessmen replicas that bring one of history's most famous chess sets to life on your board.

The Lewis chessmen are legendary. Originally carved from walrus ivory in the twelfth century and discovered on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland in 1831, the Lewis chessmen are among the most recognised and celebrated chess pieces in the world. Their expressive, characterful faces and medieval warrior forms make them as captivating to look at as they are satisfying to play with.

Craftsman quality throughout. Every detail of this set has been designed and fabricated to the highest standard, from the real wood veneers and quality workmanship of the board to the large three-and-a-quarter inch hand-carved pieces. A genuine collector's item and a gift that will be treasured for a lifetime.
